BBC Bitesize has lots of ideas for supporting children in Year 1 and Year 2 to consolidate and improve their skills in all areas of the National Curriculum. The link below will take you to the KS1 subject area. Follow the tiles on the website to find games and other resources in each area.

This is an amazing website that is completely free. There are resources that all children will enjoy accessing in all curriculum areas.
Discovery Education (Espresso)
Acorn Academy's subscription to Espresso includes home access for all children attending this school. Discovery Education has kindly agreed to this information being shared via our school website but has asked that parents do not share this information via social media. Espresso has lots of ideas for learning at home with children in all different areas of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum. There is also a daily challenge on the home page of both EYFS and KS1.
Edinburgh Zoo
Edinburgh Zoo has set up a webcam so that you can continue to see some of the animals including the panda, koala and penguins.
Essex Wildlife Trust
Please click on the link below to see the webcams at the Essex Wildlife Trust. There are currently bats, badgers and barn owls for you to see. Dusk is the best time to see the badgers!
Explorify
Explorify at home is a weekly supply of activities for parents and carers to do with their learners at home. It's based on the primary science curriculum, but easy to do at home.
Google Earth
Explore the world with Google Earth and even visit the International Space Station.
The Maths Factor (Carole Vorderman)
This website is completely free and has maths lessons taught by Carole Vorderman for each age group. There are also maths games for children to play to consolidate their learning (and to have fun!).
Oak National Academy
This website has daily lessons for all year groups in English, Maths and foundation subjects. Please follow the link to the website and then follow the menu on the website to the right year group for your child. Week beginning 1st June is Week 6 on Oak Academy.
Oxford Owl
Please register on this website (free of charge) to access e-books for your child. You can select the right age band and ability level for your child and many of the books will already be familiar to him/her as they are used in school. There are also lots of ideas for children's learning at home in each year group - please scroll down the page from the link below to find the right year group for your child. Each section has around 100 ideas for home learning!
P.E. with Joe
Check YouTube for 'PE with Joe' 30 minute fitness session to keep children (and adults) fit during the school closure period. If you miss one, you can catch up by accessing the sessions from the previous days as well!

Acorn Academy subscribes to this website and therefore children are familiar with this website as it is often used by teachers in the classroom.
